high-quality homes, and communities
from the ground up.

About Us

Chegahno FN Development Corp is a 100% First Nations-owned,
all-female company focused on helping First Nations plan, fund,
and deliver high-quality housing and community buildings.
We combine lived experience in First Nations communities with
proven community project expertise.

Who We Are

Chegahno FN Development Corporation was created to give First Nations a partner that truly understands community priorities, governance, and
funding processes. As a First Nation owned corporation, we are positioned to work directly with First Nations leadership, the Indigenous Services Canada (ISC),
CMHC, and other funding streams in a way that respects both culture and procedure.

We focus on clear communication, transparent budgeting, and realistic timelines, so Chiefs, Councils and Housing Professionals can move housing projects
forward with confidence.

Meet Sarah

The mastermind behind the movement

Sarah Chegahno is a First Nations housing strategist who helps communities design and implement housing systems that actually work, from planning and funding to construction and long-term operations. With studies in Philosophy, Social Anthropology, Fashion Business, and partial Law, she brings a uniquely strategic, analytical, and community-centred perspective.

She has worked as a Housing Manager, policy architect, program designer, and multi-stakeholder negotiator on everything from renovations and new subdivisions to multi-year housing plans, waterline expansions, and complex funding portfolios with ISC, CMHC, OFNTSC, Habitat for Humanity, Reaching Home, and municipal partners. Known for her clarity, honesty, and system-level insight, Sarah is sought out by communities seeking practical, sovereignty-respecting, sustainable housing solutions.

Our Difference

Why a First Nation-owned partner matters

Many funding and procurement programs are designed to prioritize
or directly support Indigenous-owned businesses.
By working with Chegahno FN Development Corporation, communities can:

Work with a fully First Nations-owned entity that understands the
application and reporting process.

Help ensure more of the economic benefit stays in Indigenous hands.
Streamline communication between community leadership,
funding streams, and builders.

Our goal is to make it easier and faster for communities to move from
“we need homes” to “we have families moving in.”

Our Partnership with Royal Homes

Powered by Royal Homes’
modular building expertise

Chegahno FN Development Corporation works in partnership with Royal
Homes, an experienced Ontario modular builder with decades of
experience delivering homes across the province.

Chegahno FN Development Corporation is the community-driven front
door; Royal Homes provides the proven building system behind it.
